The University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Committee on Institutional Cooperation will be hosting the first Digital Humanities Summit in Lincoln from April 19-20, 2012.

A key strategy of the CIC Digital Humanities Initiative is forming a stronger CIC faculty community and networks across the discipline. With this in mind, a CIC Digital Humanities Summit is being held to identify potential collaborative research opportunities in digital humanities that cross CIC universities.

William G. Thomas, III, the John and Catherine Angle Professor in the Humanities and Chair of History at the University Nebraska-Lincoln and faculty member at the UN-L Center for Digital Research in the Humanities, will chair the keynote session on Trends in Digital Humanities.  Other session topics include Scholarly Publishing & Promotion and Tenure in the Digital World and the Role of Centers in Digital Humanities.

From this meeting, it is hoped that a major CIC research collaboration can be announced at the international conference, Digital Humanities 2013, to be held at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in July 2013.

Sponsors of the summit are the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the Committee on Institutional Cooperation, and the Liberal Arts and Sciences Deans of CIC universities.

Please visit the CIC Digital Humanities Summit homepage for more on the program and registration details.
